Common cake glazed with extra refined sugar and lemon.

Ingredients
| Dough | |
| 3 cups | wheat flour |
| 2 cups | sugar |
| 1 cup | milk |
| 1 tablesspoon | baking powder |
| 6 | eggs |
| 250 g (1/2 lb) | butter |
| dash of salt |
| Icing | |
| 250 g (1/2 lb) | extra refined sugar |
| juice of one lemon |
Preparation
With a cake mixer beat the butter, sugar and salt until soft. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well. Sift the dry ingredients and add to the dough, by the spoons, alternating with milk.
Grease and dust a medium rectangular baking pan. Spread the dough on it and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 °C for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Icing: Sift the extra refined sugar and add the juice of one lemon. Stir well until completely dissolved (this mixture should have a relatively firm consistency). Spread the icing over the lukewarm cake, let it cool down, cut it in easy-to-serve portions, then serve.
