Ingredients
Dough | |
1 tea cup | corn starch (Maizena, Argo, etc.) |
2 tea cups | wheat flour |
100 g (3.5 oz) | margarine |
1 | egg yolk |
1 flat teaspoon | salt |
Filling | |
4 | large onions |
2 straws | chives |
2 cups | milk |
2 round tablespoons | wheat flour |
100 g (3.5 oz) | grated or shredded cheese |
salt and pepper | |
2 tablespoons | margarine |
Preparation
Hand mix all ingredients well. Flour a flat top and roll out dough on it with a rolling-pin. Now place rolled-out dough in a pie crust pan (ring mold optional) spreading evenly on bottom and sides. Poke bottom with fork several times.
Filling: Melt margarine in a large skillet and add ringed-sliced onions. When they look slightly golden, add milk and stir to boil. Dissolve the wheat flour with a little milk and add it to the boil, stirring well until it thickens. Remove from heat and add the chopped chives. Season with salt and pepper at will.
Wait until filling is cooled down and then pour it over the dough. Sprinkle with your preferred grated or shredded cheese.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200 °C for 30 minutes.
